  1. What programs are offered?
  1. A. Curriculum courses leading to the Associate in Arts (A.A.) and Associate in Science (A.S.) degrees for college transfer programs.

Curriculum courses leading to the A.A.S. (Associate in Applied Science Degrees); in Business Administration, Criminal Justice , along with certificates in Early Childhood Associates, Infant Toddler Care, Simulation and Game Development and a Business Core certificate..

Continuing Education classes are available in the day, evenings and weekends.

  1. What Continuing Education classes are being offered?
  1. The following classes may be offered:
    • Computer classes: Graphic Design Microsoft Office Products, Introduction to the PC and Windows, Keyboarding, AutoCAD, Java, Visual Basic and QuickBooks. .

    • Basic Skills: ESL (English as a Second Language), ABE, and GED.

    • Small Business Seminars:Creating an Online Business, Social Media for Business, Starting a Business, Legal Entity, Building a Business Plan, Tax and Financial Programs, Marketing and Sales, and International Business.

    • Partnership Programs: SBA (US Small Business Association), SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives), NCMBC (North Carolina Military Business Center), and NC and Federal Government Partners.6

    • Evening Division:  Acrylic Art, Medical Office Procedures, Medical Coding and Terminology, Notary, Pharmacy Technology, Plumbing Technology, Public Speaking and Communication Skills, Spanish, TOEFL Test Prep

    • uman Resources Development:  Offer Free employability skills classes to those who are unemployed, underemployed, and/or laid off.  Classes include Computer Skills, Resume Writing, Behavioral Interviewing, Generational Interviewing, Entrepreneurial Thinking, Re-Employment Readiness, along with Re-Inventing Yourself for Today’s Job Market.  For more information you may go to www.hrd.waketech.edu or call 919 532-5696.

  1. How do I apply? Can I turn in my application at the Northern Wake Campus?
  1. Complete the standard Wake Tech Application for Admission – The application can be completed online at www.waketech.edu Click on the link Future Student at the top of the page. Click on the link for Admissions Procedures. Follow the instructions listed there.
  2. Paper application can be downloaded or picked up from any of our campuses.   The application does not ask you to designate a campus.  However once accepted, when making your course selections you may choose classes listed for the Northern Wake Campus.  Computers are available for your use in completing the application.

  1. Can I be a full-time student at the Northern Wake Campus?
  1. Yes. Complete the admissions process early for the best selection of courses.

  1. What types of student services are available?
    • o Admissions, placement testing, advising, registration, student activities, are available Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.; financial aid service is available on Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., disability and support services Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., with an abbreviated schedule every other Friday. Extended hours may be available during pre-registration periods. Career and personal counseling and international student services, are available on a rotating schedule.

    • ILC (Individualized Learning Center) hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Math and Science Building Rm. 213.

  1. Do I need an appointment to meet with an advisor?
  1. An appointment is not necessary, but stongly encouraged – especially during peak advising and registration periods.

  1. Where is the Northern Wake Campus?
  1. The Northern Wake Campus is located on Highway 401 North at Interstate 540, exit 18.

  1. Are EFL classes taught at the Northern Wake Campus?
  1. There will be limited EFL offerings in the Fall of 2009. Please go to http://efl.waketech.edu for more details.

  1. Is there a library, bookstore, and cafeteria?
  1. Yes. The library is open Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Bookstore will be located in the Math and Science Building, Room 225. Café is located in Building D, Room 206.

  1. Are evening classes and programs available?
  1. Yes. Classes in Business Administration and Computer Technologies (Associate in Applied Science Degrees), Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, and a variety of Continuing Education courses are available in the evening.
